The Phillies are trading second baseman Howie Kendrick to the Nationals, FOX’s Ken Rosenthal reports. In return, the Nationals are sending minor league left-handed pitcher McKenzie Mills back, as well as international bonus pool space.
Christie, who has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons, wasn’t even in his own state and managed to get booed by an entire ballpark of fans. That’s pretty impressive, if you think about it.
But the fans weren’t the only ones who negatively responded to Christie attending the game and catching a ball. Even the booth got in on the fun, with a brief putdown about Christie’s recent extracurricular activities.
“Nice to see him get from the beach here to the ballpark.”
That, of course, is in reference to his recent day on a Jersey beach during a government shutdown of the majority of public beaches. Christie was caught red handed and his constituents weren’t too pleased with the abuse of office.
This moment at the park is proof that the governor can’t escape from public opinion, even at the ballpark.
The 1997 Mariners were the best team the organization had Cheap Penguins Jerseys ever fielded to that point. As our own Amanda Lane recounted hauntingly, it was supposed to be the opening of a contention window, yet for Griffey and Johnson it would be their second and final taste of the playoffs in Cheap Original Soccer Jerseys Mariner uniforms. A young Ichiro Suzuki changes that equation. The Mariners entered 1997 with the 10th highest payroll in the MLB, around $46 million.
Playing time, too, could be found. Pitching was the most obvious hole in the 1997 roster, but the Opening Day lineup below reveals the greatest limitation in the lineup existed in left field.
